We received plenty of RSVPs so we’ll definitely have a full house at The Lucky Dog on Opening Day, this coming Sunday. If for some reason you were not able to RSVP and would like to join in – don’t worry. If you bleed brown & orange we won’t turn you away. The RSVP process is done just to get a statistical estimated headcount. I hope we can all go home happy with a win over those Steelers!
Etiquette, Protocol, Decorum: Any time we have a full house at The Lucky Dog, it certainly helps if everyone is courteous & considerate of one another. Some general guidelines: If you want a good seat, arrive early and claim your seat. It’s ok to save seats for other family members or friends, but please don’t save seats unless you are 100% sure that this friend or family member is coming. Finally, if you have room at your table, please allow other members to sit with you – we all bleed brown & orange and at every game new friendships are formed. I will have the “mike” throughout the game and I will be directing traffic and assisting members in finding open seats.
Cleveland Sports Talk – Featured Article: Rod Bluhm from Cleveland Sports Talk has featured our club in an article in their recent newsletter. Bud Light Beer Cooler: As advertised in the Cleveland area, our club will have its own “locked” cooler of free Bud Light to be opened & distributed when we win our first game. This is courtesy of Ohio Eagle Distributing. We are still working out the specific details. Stay Tuned. Hopefully, we can be enjoying these after the Steelers game!
2018 Season Game Plan / Playbook
We’ll continue with our usual game plan for all games in 2018. This includes: 2 - 3 Browns Trivia questions during the first quarter, selection of our Member-of-the-Week at the end of the first quarter, our “salute to our roots” with a selection of a Cleveland/NE Ohio suburb-of-the-week, our famous half-time raffle (I may call an audible on raffle protocol a few times in the year based upon members input), and our Junior Spirit award (Bring your kids, we are kid-friendly, they are welcome). We’ll also continue with our “Swear Jar” contributions to help our furry, four-legged fans at the local Animal Shelter. Side Raffle: In 2018, we’ll also have a season-long side raffle for a glass-framed / autographed Joe Haden Jersey. Player Appearances: We are always working on alumni player appearances. When we schedule one, you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned.
Discounted Rounds of golf: As per golf course policy, we purchase a set amount of rounds of golf whether we use them or not. I have for sale at a discounted price of $25, vouchers for rounds of golf at the City of Mason (Kings Island) golf course. These vouchers are good for 18 holes with cart anytime M-F and after noon on Saturday or Sunday. Reply to me to purchase these vouchers.
DUES: Our dues are what drive our success and help fund all club functions including our parties, raffle, player appearances, etc. You can pay your 2018 dues by mail. Please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie – at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039. Our dues are only $20 per adult (over 18) and kids under 18 are free. Please print your email address on your check or on a separate sheet for our records. NOTES: (1) Contact Georg - (scooter85@mindspring.com.) with any inquiries on the processing of your dues. (2) We’ll be accepting dues at the door on opening day.

Let’s fill the Lucky Dog Grille on Opening Day, September 9, 2018

Opening Day Party: We will follow the same format & protocol as previous years. Here’s the scoop: The club will provide a free appetizer buffet and a limited “Club Tab” for beer, wine, & soft drinks for all dues-paying members. The tailgate party will be from noon to 1pm (kick-off) and the appetizer buffet & Club Tab will last as long as possible into the game. The key is how much we can budget.
