Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers Meeting Minutes

Date: February 11, 2018

Location: Lucky Dog Grille, Mason, Ohio

Present: Kurt Boveington, Bryan Eisenhart, Jill Eisenhart, Greg Soltis, Danny Dunn, Georg Lastoski,  Brandon Schindler, Eric Huber, Rich Miller, Ben Miller, Chuck Klein, Cynthia Klein (12 members present)

State of the Union / Year in Review: Kurt emphasized that our club had a great year despite the Browns going 0-16. The success or failure of any of our strategies/tactics/events has to take into account the Browns play on the field.

Finance & Treasury Report: Georg presented our year-end financial statement. Our balance is very healthy heading into 2018 ($4,217.24). Kurt clarified the Charity giving to be $1,550.00 ($1,000 donation to The Cleveland Browns Foundation was included in the Golf Outing expenses). If we take both Charity direct from our club, plus Charity direct from the members, this totals out to over $2,550 which is significant for our club. Georg suggested having multiple lines on the dues form to distinguish between adults and kids under 18.

Raffle Status / Inventory: Bryan & Jill have a little inventory leftover from 2017. As in past years, various members will travel to the Cleveland area and do some raffle shopping during the off season. Bryan suggested possibly having some theme raffles (Failed Browns QBs). A healthy discussion followed regarding the raffle format as a result of the newsletter survey. (The survey results: Maintain status quo: 37.5%, Change the format: 62.5% -- ticket winner gets to choose which prize). Despite the survey results, many pros & cons were discussed. It was decided to maintain the status quo but experiment with the new format a couple weeks during the season and observe the feedback from the members.

Web Site & Social Media: IMPORTANT NOTE: As of the recording of these minutes, Kurt contacted William Dyer and convinced him to take on the Webmaster role from Deb. (He was going to decline due to his job load & obligations). Going forward, at least 95% of the website will be static with very little variable changes, so the work load & maintenance will be limited. The transition between William Dyer & Deb is in process. Therefore all meeting discussions on finding a new Webmaster are null & void.

Eric Huber gave a brief status of our Twitter & Instagram accounts.

Browns Game Tickets for 2018: As per the previous years, our club will not purchase any tickets. Individual members are free to purchase tickets and organize road trips if they desire.

Player appearances: Kurt has several leads for some player appearances for 2018 and will stay on top of these as we approach the season. Al Bubba Baker was added to the list.

Draft day: We will hold a gathering at the Lucky Dog on April 26th for the first round. Kurt asked for any ideas something new to do this year.

Golf Outing: Brandon went over the scoop for this years outing

  • NOTE: Due to a scheduling error by the golf course, the date has been changed from June 23rd to June 30th. Kurt will make

  • note of this in the next newsletter.

  • Brandon will notify all previous attendees.

  • Brandon & Kurt will file the registration papers and deposit for the golf course.

  • Greg & Danny can do some banners like last year.

  • We need to have documented sponsor programs so that everyone is on the same page as we approach possible sponsors. Brandon to work on this.

  • As usual, we will need a lot of administrative help and sponsors.

  • We will try to get all masters of any document from Deb, if she has them.

  • We discussed the pros & cons of a shot-gun start vs. the regular start costs, risk factors, etc.

  • Kurt had a listing of all sponsors, raffle prizes, flyer postings, etc. from last years outing.

Tribe/Reds games in August: The Tribe plays at the Reds on August 13, 14, & 15. Kurt will mention this in the Newsletters. Any member can organize a group outing for these games.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be March 11, 2018, 1pm at The Lucky Dog.

Game 6: Im not quite sure what to say. We take a baby step forward and two giant steps backwards. Despite Hogans mistakes and inaccurate throws, I was really surprised at how poor our defense played. I thought we were at full strength on defense with our entire starting unit healed from injuries. I thought from the beginning that our defense would be strong this year. There were too many Houston receivers wide open on many plays. Question for all: No matter what play we call on offense, why are all eleven defensive players on the ball carrier or receiver instantly? Its almost like they were in our huddle. I would love for Hue to hire a full-time offensive coordinator. We need someone dedicated to that function with a lot of creativity. Thats my 2 cents. The game was televised locally by CBS resulting in a lower turnout at The Lucky Dog. As usual, those who did make it had a great time. Heres the scoop on game 6:

-          Trivia winners: Greg Soltis, Eric Huber, Dan Molnar
-          Member of the week: Mike Cregan
-          Jr. Spirit Award: Ryan
-          Suburb of the week: Streetsboro

Live from London, England, The Browns vs. The Vikings, October 29th, 9:30am Kickoff.

Keg & Eggs Party: Heres a trivia question: How many regular season games have the Browns lost playing in London, England? Answer: None! Lets cheer on our Browns at The Lucky Dog as they continue to keep their undefeated streak alive against the Vikings. The Lucky Dog will deviate from their usual menu and have a special Buffet that day. Heres the scoop: The Lucky Dog will have a Breakfast Buffet including eggs, sausages, bacon, biscuits & gravy, French toast, fruit, etc. The Breakfast Buffet is free for all dues-paying members. We will not run a club tab on drinks. Beer can be purchased from the bar at kickoff but hard liquor cannot be purchased until 11:30am.

Action Item RSVP Time: If you plan to attend on October 29th, please RSVP by replying to this email with your name(s) so we can keep an accurate head count. Please RSVP by October 25th.  Based upon the RSVP count, well be able to budget accordingly.

Spikes K-9 fund raiser October 22nd. Back by popular demand, we are pleased to have Ms. Jill Cutter the Midwest Director for the Spikes K-9 fund. Be sure to be at The Lucky Dog, this coming week on October 22nd and talk to Jill about this mission. Its truly a great cause and our club will make a donation to the charity as well. For information on this organization, go to www.spikesk9fund.org.

Club Shirts & Hats: NOTE: Our shirt & hat orders are ready for pickup. We started distribution this week. All orders can be picked up at The Lucky Dog Grille on game days. Depending upon style & size, the shirts/hats will run about $12 - $25. Club member Ginny Weale has been working hard researching some new styles & colors. Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers Newsletter, 11/7/16

Game 9: Rodney Dangerfield I get no respect. My parents would tie a pork chop around my neck, and not even the dog would play with me! I could tell my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and a radio. A girl called me the other day and said Come on over, theres nobody home. I went over, nobody was home. I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous everyone hasnt met me yet. My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I wanted a second opinion. He said okay, youre ugly too. I was such an ugly kid when I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up. Fox Sports was televising my favorite team the Browns. In the middle of the 2nd half, they switched to the Philly/Giants game. I tell you, I get no respect!

Well such is life as a Browns fan. It is what it is. Everyone just needs to hang in there and ride this out through the season. Weve got a very young team and another stock pile of draft picks coming up. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A BETTER TURNOUT FOR THE GAMES AT THE LUCKY DOG. We have a great time with Browns trivia, our raffle, member-of-the-week, Suburb-of-the-week, & Jr. Spirit award, etc. Also, weve been supporting some worthy causes The Southwest Ohio Doberman Rescue and Spikes K9 Fund.

Heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Jim Tonathy, Dan Molnar, Bob Schwiegeraht
-          Member of the week: Steve Baker
-          Jr. Spirit Award: Leah & Sammie
-          Suburb of the week: Broadview Hts., OH
-          This weeks NE Ohio/Cleveland Restaurants to vote for:

  • Market Garden Brewery vs. Michael Symons Lola Bistro
  • NOTE: This is The Finals for our Fine Dining Category, so be sure and cast your vote.

(BE SURE AND VOTE BELOW AT THE END OF THIS NEWSLETTER)

Spikes K9 Fund: Jill Cutter and Jenna were our guests again representing Spikes K9 Fund. This is a great cause and they will continue to visit us through the rest of the season. If you would like more information, contact Jill at Jill@spikesk9fund.org or go to their website: www.spikesk9fund.org.

The Mugs have arrived: We ordered another supply of orange mugs. These will be available for all members on game days at The Lucky Dog. Be sure and show up at The Lucky Dog on game days and pick up your mug.

Volunteers needed: Any Techies out there? We are still looking for someone to eventually take over the website from Deb. It involves perhaps 45 minute 1 hour per week during the season and some administrative / maintenance chores during the off-season. Reply to me if you can help.

Tickets Available: Club members Louis & Debbie Lorenzetti have tickets available for the Bengals at Browns on 12/11/16 and Chargers at Browns on 12/24/16. Please contact them direct for prices and details. Debbie: DLLSRL01@GMAIL.COM, Louis: LOUIELORENZETTI@GMAIL.COM.

DUES: Our dues are what drive our success and help fund all club functions including our parties, raffle, player appearances, etc. Throughout the season, we can collect dues on game days at The Lucky Dog. Our dues are only $20 per adult (over 18) and kids under 18 are free. You can also pay your 2016 dues by mail. Please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039.

Our next game will be the Browns at the Ravens THURSDAY night, November 10th; at 8pm. (I believe kickoff is 8:20pm). We will do our normal gig at The Lucky Dog. Hope to see as many people there. NOTE: There is no game on Sunday, November 13th.

Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter, 10/3/16

Game 4: With a young team, we have to learn to close things out and put the nail in the coffin. We had the momentum until things blew up in the 4th quarter. Isaiah Crowell had a great game and is having a breakout season. We should build our offense around this workhorse. Other than the late interception, Cody Kessler is starting to remind me of another quarterback from Southern California – Brian Sipe. He will get better with each game. (Bye-Bye to RG3, let Cody start the rest of the year and see how he does). We need to get Carl Nassib back to put more pressure on the quarterback and get Corey Coleman back to complement Terrelle Pryor. As far as Josh Gordon goes, let’s pretend he never existed in the first place, just let him fade away with Johnny into the sunset. There’s a lot of secrecy there, but perhaps it’s the obvious all along.

You will be in good hands next week, with a number of officers & volunteers chipping in. With the game being televised on CBS, we didn’t get the usual sell-out crowd at The Lucky Dog but still had a great time.

Here’s the scoop from Sunday’s game:

-          Trivia winners: Rich Miller, Dan Molnar, Mike Hobson
-          Member of the week: Barb Hobson
-          Jr. Spirit Award: Danny Soltis
-          Suburb of the week: Olmsted Falls, OH
-          This week’s NE Ohio/Cleveland Restaurants to vote for:

·  Bubba’s Q, Antonio’s Pizza, Close Quarters Pub, Jekylls, Tick Tock Tavern

Why we do what we do – Swear Jar: Throughout the game you’ll hear me announce on the mike “Swear Jar”. For all the new members, we maintain a Swear Jar on our display table each game. On rare occasions (LOL), the Browns play forces us to use choice words that mother wouldn’t approve of. In those instances, we ask you to make a donation to our official Swear Jar. All funds from our swear jar are donated to animal shelters and/or Dog-related causes – charities, rescues, etc. (Our “Dawgs-helping-Dogs” program). So….don’t be shy and keep those choice words coming (LOL), it’s all fun and for a good cause. Let me know if you have any other questions on Club protocol.

Calling all Volunteers: Does anyone have the experience or technical skills to help with our website? If so, we could use some help in this area. It will be an easy transition as our original webmaster (Deb) will be available to train anyone over the next year on these duties. It requires about an hour per week during the season and you would also need to stay in tune with all the events & activities with our club throughout the year.   Other areas of need are: a set-up crew on game days (A number of members have been showing up early to help set-up – Thank you very much); a photographer during the season; some extra warm bodies to give Bryan & Jill some breaks with the raffle duties on game days.  Let me know if you can lend a helping hand. Simply reply to this email.

BACKER BASH – BROWNS AT BENGALS, SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 22ND

Stay tuned for more details on player appearances and other activities for this event.

Tickets Available: Club members Louis & Debbie Lorenzetti have tickets available for the Bengals at Browns on 12/11/16 and Chargers at Browns on12/24/16. Please contact them direct for prices and details. Debbie:DLLSRL01@GMAIL.COM, Louis: LOUIELORENZETTI@GMAIL.COM.

Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter, 9/26/16

Game 3: This may sound silly, but believe it or not, we are improving. Considering all the injuries (Corey Coleman, Joe Haden, and all our QB’s, etc.) and we pick up a kicker a day before the game, we fought a battle into overtime. The long snapper, holder, & kicker were introducing themselves to each other on the first field goal attempt. We need a little more practice and chemistry on those kicks. Those missed field goals obviously did us in. We make those, we win…Woulda, coulda, shoulda…. Terrelle Pryor showed us his versatility and what he adds to the offense. We need to get Josh Gordon & Corey Coleman back along with a number of others healthy. Again, we filled the house at The Lucky Dog Grille and had a great time.

Here’s the scoop from Sunday’s game:

-          Trivia winners: Dave Hughes, Bill Keene, Don Kushma
-          Member of the week: Ed Sedlak
-          Jr. Spirit Award: Caleb & Will
-          Suburb of the week: Bay Village, OH
-          This week’s NE Ohio/Cleveland Restaurants to vote for:

·  Red Steakhouse, Michael Symon’s Lola Bistro, Alberini’s Trattoria

Favorite Cleveland area restaurants - a salute to our Roots: Don’t forget to vote – it’s an election year, LOL. As mentioned above and in my past newsletters, we’ll vote on these throughout the season. I’ll keep scores similar to NCAA Brackets. Each week there will be a different set of candidates. See your choices at the end of this newsletter.

Shirts & Mugs: We’ve had a considerable number of new members this year and several have inquired about shirts, mugs & other practices. Mugs: All dues-paying members should get a plastic mug. During our first week we ran out of mugs. We’ll be putting in another order and I’ll keep everyone posted.Shirts: We have club shirts with our logo printed. Our vendor requires a minimum order quantity of 75 shirts. For that reason, we only print the shirts every other year. We will do another shirt run in 2017. The shirts are varied – T-shirts, hoodies, golf shirts, etc. and are priced between $15 and $20 dollars. Our website has more details.

Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter, 9/19/16

Game 2: We made significant progress in this game and the team gave us a sneak peek of what’s in store once these young players grow together as a team. The future is very promising. The present: well, we just need to be patient for the time being. Corey Coleman showed what he’s capable of doing. Once we get Josh Gordon back, we will have some legitimate threats on the field at the same time. Now for the officiating: Well, I’ll keep those sentiments to myself for now otherwise I’ll owe the “Swear Jar” some extra dough. We had a great time at The Lucky Dog Grille with another full house.

Here’s the scoop from Sunday’s game:

-          Trivia winners: Dan Molnar, Ed Sedlak, Bob Risheill
-          Member of the week: Bob Beebe
-          Jr. Spirit Award: Evan & Caleb
-          Suburb of the week: Twinsburg, OH
-          This week’s NE Ohio/Cleveland Restaurants to vote for:

Calling all Volunteers: I’m still looking for volunteers. Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter, 9/12/16

Game 1: Well, we have a very young team that will grow together through the season. Although the final score was not in our favor, we filled the house and had a great time with our special guest of honor, Greg Pruitt. On several occasions, our club has been blessed with former Browns players who display a first class image. Mr. Pruitt was no exception. He was very generous with his time, past stories and insights on our current Browns. Although our planned halftime call-in with Coach Barry Switzer fell through, Greg appreciated the special letter from Sam Rutigliano. This was a great day for our club – a win would have been nice, but we’ll just have to look forward to next week.

Here’s the scoop from Sunday’s game:

-          Trivia winners: Guy Boveington, Steve Baker, David Wolfe
-          Member of the week: Nick Grote

-          This week’s NE Ohio/Cleveland Restaurants to vote for:
  • ML Tavern, Momocho, Ferenheit, and Parralax

Favorite Cleveland area restaurants - a salute to our Roots: As mentioned above and in my past newsletter, we’ll vote on these throughout the season. I’ll keep scores similar to NCAA Brackets. Each week there will be a different set of candidates.

Which former Browns Great will be our Guest of Honor on opening day?

Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter 7/27/16

It’s “Countdown to Opening Day” time, so you’ll hear from me frequently during this time. Training camp has started and all the discussion and debates will begin regarding the Browns’ starting lineup. As we’ve done in past years, we plan to fill The Lucky Dog on opening day.

The “4th” Annual SW Ohio Browns Backers Golf Outing: It was an extremely hot & humid day for our golf outing. For those who showed up to golf, we all had a great time. For those who registered and failed to show up, you missed a good time. The winning teams all shot in the low to mid 50’s (scramble format) which means they put a lot of birdies & a few eagles on their scorecards. Special thanks to our amazing Administrative Volunteer Team that worked hard to make the entire day run so smooth.

Which Former Browns Great will be our Guest of Honor for Opening Day?

We are very fortunate to have another former Browns player to appear as our guest for opening day. His list of accomplishments are quite impressive: All-American in college, 2-time Heisman Trophy candidate, member of the College Football Hall of Fame, played nine years with the Cleveland Browns and made five pro bowls. Drum roll please…… Let’s hear it for Greg Pruitt! Mr. Pruitt has agreed to be our guest for our first game, September 11th at The Lucky Dog Grille. We will follow the usual protocol with autographs for dues-paying members starting about 11am and kickoff will be at 1pm. Mr. Pruitt will watch the game and participate in our usual game-day activities. Stay tuned for more details on Opening day.

DUES: With our opening day party just about 6 weeks away, it’s time again to push for all members to get their dues paid for the season. Our dues are what drive our success and help fund all club functions including our parties, raffle, player appearances, etc.  You can pay your 2016 dues by mail. Please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie – at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039. Our dues are only $20 per adult (over 18) and kids under 18 are free. Please print your email address on your check or on a separate sheet for our records.

Calling all Volunteers: Our club is blessed with many backers who step up and help make our club a success. In the volunteer business, there’s always room for more. It would be nice to get some additional volunteers to help row the boat and steer the ship. Some of the areas of need are: (1) registration & check-in table on opening day; (2) a set-up crew on game days to arrive early to setup the raffle & display tables, hang our various banners, and to decorate the Lucky Dog in true Browns colors; (3) a photographer during the season. (4) Some extra warm bodies to give Bryan & Jill some breaks with the raffle duties on game days. We have a great club, the more members that can help the better. Let me know if you can lend a helping hand. Simply reply to this email and feel free to attend any of our club meetings. Thanks.

Other Events / Activities: The following is not club sponsored, but I like to keep everyone informed of other Browns events & activities in the area that get passed through me:

To Due or not to Due / Volunteer Call

Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers – Newsletter - 7/06/16

Since my last newsletter, the Cav’s won the NBA Championship which catapulted the Indians on a 14 game winning streak to take control of their division. These events coupled with the enthusiasm & optimism instilled by Browns coach Hue Jackson, the Cleveland mantra has just become Believeland or Achieveland.  I can’t wait to see how the Tribe’s season plays out and how the Browns’ season takes off. Stay tuned.

Dues – Dues – Dues – Dues: To Due or not to Due

Every newsletter, I’m always emphasizing dues. Sorry. In a very large club, we have a core group who always pay their dues and many other members who don’t. Our dues drive our success. As a not-for-profit organization, we try to balance our expenditures in the following ways:

-          Keeping the club running successfully & having a lot of fun on game days rooting on our favorite team.
-          Charitable donations: As our budget allows, we have consistently donated to The Cleveland Browns Foundation, Susan G. Komen, Muscular Dystrophy, & the Animal Friends animal shelter in Hamilton.
-          Player Appearances: We’ve had several to date. I’m currently negotiating for a player for our first game of this season. Stay tuned.

We are also very fortunate to have many members that dedicate a lot of free hours of their time to help keep the club running. Still others have donated raffle prizes as well as monies to our treasury.
So…….. To pay your 2016 dues, you can pay in person or by mail. The sooner we get dues paid, the easier it is to budget and plan our season.

Calling all Volunteers:  I’m in the process of going through a career change which puts me on the road more often. I truly enjoy my role & service to the club, (& many members have complimented me on my job – running this club – which is truly appreciated), but it would be nice to get some additional volunteers to help row the boat and steer the ship. We are in need of a photographer during the season. Also I would like some volunteers for set-up & décor & break-down on game days, and some extra warm bodies to give Bryan & Jill some breaks with the raffle duties on game days. We have a great club, the more members that can help the better. Let me know if you can lend a helping hand. Thanks.

We held a draft day contest on April 28th, during round one of the draft. The objective was to pick the top ten picks - both the NFL team and the player for a total of 20 points. This was difficult because no one can predict when the various trades would occur. Anyway,...drum roll please, our winners are:

  • Mike Hobson -8 wrong out of 20
  • Marlene Whitfield -8 wrong out of 20
  • Barbara Hobson -9 wrong out of 20

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Thursday night - NFL Draft - Round 1, will be our first official club event of the year. I hope to see some familiar faces at The Lucky Dog. There have been a lot of trades & activity leading up to this event. Could this draft provide the drama & excitement of the movie Draft Day? (Do we need Kevin Costner on our team, LOL?) Stay tuned. To make things exciting we have a Club Contest for the top ten draft picks. Here's the latest scoop on all club activities:

Draft Day Contest: Pick the Top Ten Draft Picks and win prizes!

Draft Day - April 28th, 8pm - Round 1 at The Lucky Dog: How good are your projected picks vs. the NFL draft gurus? Club Contest: Show up at The Lucky Dog Thursday night for round one and bring with you a sealed envelope with your projected top ten draft picks - THE PLAYER'S NAMES and NFL TEAM. After the 10th pick, the accounting firm of Otto, Big Dawg, & Graham will open the envelopes and grade the entries. There will be a total of 20 points - getting both the NFL Team and the player correct. The top three will win a prize. (Given the current activity - trades & moves, you may not want to seal your envelope until the last minute!)

Our Golf Outing is set: July 23rd, 1:30pm at The Kings Island Golf Center

4 person scramble (Golfers of all skill levels invited)

$70 per person: includes green fees, cart, 2 drink tickets, hole contests & cookout after golf

Here are some exciting improvements for this year Golf Outing:

Shot Gun format: We own the course this year! No more waiting, no more bottlenecks. We will Tee-off from all 18 holes at the start and no other groups or parties will be in our way. This should increase the speed of play significantly.

More efficient raffle: This year, while we are out on the course shooting our birdies, the raffle team will draw the winning tickets and your raffle prize will be tagged & waiting for you at the end of your round. We will still have a brief ceremony for the winning teams and for some grand prizes.

We are always in need of administrative help and sponsors for the outing as well. Reply if you can lend a helping hand or if you know of any potential sponsors.

Next club meeting: Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 1pm @ The Lucky Dog. All members are invited. Lots of help is needed as we plan our season. We'll be discussing player appearances, the golf outing, our schedule and our game-day format.

Member of the week: Did you know our club has recognized 78 Members-of-the-week? During the season on each game day, we choose a person for this honorary distinction. Then, a picture of the selected Browns Backer and a few interesting tidbits are forever etched in stone on our website. Just go to our website and click on Fan to see and get to know these members.

DUES: Our dues are what drive our success and help fund all club functions including our parties, raffle, player appearances, etc.  You can pay your 2016 dues by mail. Please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie - at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039. Our dues are only $20 per adult (over 18) and kids under 18 are free. Please print your email address on your check or on a separate sheet for our records.

Road Trip - Oct 2nd: Since the NFL schedule is released, road trips are already planned. Here's the scoop: October 2nd, Browns at Redskins in Washington, DC. Cost is $440 per person which includes the game ticket, bus transportation, & 2 nights lodging, and more. To reserve your spot or for more information contact: Par Sarwar or Debbie Paxson.

Looking forward to a great year, Go Browns!

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

From the musical, The Sound of Music we hear the lyrics: "So long, Farewell Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu". If I do my translation properly it means - Goodbye, until we see you again. After each week, I shake hands with dozens of backers and say goodbye. Fortunately, I see everyone again the following week. This has been a difficult & strange year on the field, however, from our club's perspective we've had a fantastic year. We had draft day parties, a Golf outing with 88 golfers & Earnest Byner as our guest, and each week during the season we've had very good turnout of members despite the Browns play. We say goodbye (& some members during a temporary emotional lapse - will say goodbye for good). But after the emotions cool off, we continue to see everyone again. I'm proud of our club! As a result our financials are very strong. To be responsible, we've contributed about $1700 to various charities in addition to having our parties & weekly raffles. I've got more irons in the fire & wheels in motion to continually improve our club with more player appearances & other activities. I'll keep everyone posted with my newsletters in the off season. Our year-end party is next Sunday, so until then - "So long, Farewell Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu, Adieu, Adieu".

Here's the scoop from Sunday's game:

-          Trivia winners: Brandon Schindler, Kim Lasko, Rich Miller

-          Member of the week: Cynthia Klein

-          Suburb of the week: Fairport Harbor, OH

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Sammie & Lea

Year-End Party, Sunday, January 10th, 2016, 1pm at The Lucky Dog- FINAL RSVP

Our year-end party will be January10th at the Lucky Dog. The game will feature Seattle at Minnesota at 1pm. The format will be the same as our previous opening day & year-end parties. There will be a free appetizer buffet and a limited "Club Tab" for beer, wine, & soft drinks for all dues-paying members. The appetizer buffet & Club Tab will last as long as possible into the game. For the Club Tab, everyone can choose selected brands of beer, wine or soft drinks from The Lucky Dog's menu. The appetizer buffet will include The Lucky Dog's famous wings, veggie tray, fruit tray, chips, etc.

We'll probably start the official tailgate & club tab at approximately 12:30 - 12:45pm. We will budget accordingly based upon the number of RSVP's. If you haven't paid your 2015 dues, we can accept dues at the door on the day of the party. (Our fiscal year, 2016 starts March 1st).

If you plan to attend and haven't RSVP'd yet, please RSVP by replying to this email. Thank you.

Help Wanted: First, Thank You for all the Thank You's. I've had numerous members approach me throughout the year to express their gratitude for all the work I put into the club. Believe me, I truly enjoy putting in the time & effort to keep the club moving in the right direction. But we wouldn't be in this position without the help of numerous members. We are certainly fortunate and blessed to have a dedicated group of officers and committee members who pitch in and help steer the ship - not only during the season but throughout the entire year. With any social club, there's always a lot of transition due to job changes, kids, relocation, retirements, and many other reasons. As we head into 2016, we will need more resources to step up, assume roles & duties in transition, and help with our planning for 2016. I will be scheduling our off-season monthly meetings starting after the Super Bowl.  Everyone is invited to our meetings and there are plenty of ways you can help our club. Please consider if you can. I'll be reaching out to many members.

DUES: Our dues are what drive our success and help fund all club functions including our parties, raffle, player appearances, etc.  If you haven't paid your 2015 dues, you can do so by mail.  Please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie - at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039. Our dues are $20 per adult (over 18) and kids under 18 are free. Please print your email address on your check or on a separate sheet for our records. (Our fiscal year, 2016 starts March 1st).

Again, our year-end party is January 10th (mentioned above). So....Goodbye, until we see you again.

Sincerely - your humble servant,

Kurt Boveington

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

On the way home from the Lucky Dog, I was listening to one of my many oldies stations programed on my radio and just happened to hear Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry. Im actually starting to believe in Johnny. He certainly adds excitement to our otherwise dull & predictable offense. What if Johnny had some more weapons to work with? Do you see where Im headed here? Sowith our # 1 draft pick, lets lay off any quarterbacks and find a very tall wide receiver that runs a 4.2 forty-yard dash. Plus, we will have Josh Gordon coming back as well. Im content with Johnny, Austin Davis, & Connor Shaw going into next year. We dont need to bring in an aging veteran as a mentor either. As of now, Johnny has the keys to the car and he needs to prove that Johnny B. Goode off the field as well. (I hope the Browns dont allow Johnny & Josh Gordon to room together LOL). Therefore from one Browns fan to another Just wait until next year.

A Happy New Year to all.  Heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Bob Risheil, Gerry Deehan, Bill Keane, Greg Miller

-          Member of the week: Deborah Lorenzetti

-          Suburb of the week: Brookpark, OH

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Calib & Noah (Were they awesome or what!)

Year-End Party, Sunday, January 10th, 2016, 1pm at The Lucky Dog

Our year-end party will be January 10th at 1pm at the Lucky Dog. Theres no way of knowing now which playoff game will be shown during that time slot. For our parties, we provide a limited appetizer buffet and a limited club tab for all 2015 dues-paying members. Action Item: Please RSVP by replying to this email so I can get an estimate head count for the party. Thank you to all who have already RSVPd. We will budget accordingly based upon the number of RSVPs. If you havent paid your 2015 dues, we can accept dues at the door on the day of the party. (Our fiscal year, 2016 starts March 1st).

Help Wanted: Every year at this time, I always put out this announcement. We are certainly fortunate and blessed to have a dedicated group of officers and committee members who pitch in and help steer the ship not only during the season but throughout the entire year. Please consider if you can.

This is how to use your prize win you win!!

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Several months ago, I read an article citing the most worn-out phrases and the phrase It is what it is was listed as one of the top phrases. According to the experts: 'It Is What It Is' is an idiomatic phrase, indicating the immutable nature of an object or circumstance. This is commonly used in American culture as an apathetic response to something that makes little sense or has little to no validity. In a nutshell, this describes the Browns play. All we can do is say: It is what it is and show up next week in our Browns attire. Seattle is definitely a top notch team playing at a high level right now. At home they are tough to beat. It is what it is. We still have two games left Dec 27th & Jan 3rd.

To all: Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas. Safe travels to all over this time as well. Heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Bob Risheil, Rich Miller, Brent Pokopac , Gailon Revere

-          Member of the week: Ken Leib

-          Suburb of the week: Mayfield Hts, OH

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Natalie Weale

Holiday Carol

I guess the game put a damper on our holiday mood & cheer and we never got around to any of our Holiday Carols. Perhaps next week, the liquid holiday cheer will flow freely and we can attempt another carol. Well see how it goes.

Upcoming Dates:

-          Sunday - December 27th CDLD Holiday Carol contest (See explanation above.)

-          Sunday, January 10th: Year-end party. In the past years, weve always chosen the Sunday, 1pm time slot during the wild-card playoff weekend for our year-end party.  Its much easier to plan that way. The protocol is the same as our opening day party with a limited club tab & appetizer buffet for all dues-paying members. RSVPs please. Please reply back to this email if you plan to attend the year-end party. I already received some RSVPs so far. Ill need an approximate head count so I can budget accordingly.

Don Cockrofts book:  Don is running a special holiday offer for his book. His website has all the details. (http://www.thekardiackids.com)  As you know, I have his book on display every game at The Lucky Dog.

Our next game will be Sunday, December 27th vs. Kansas City, a 1pm kick-off at The Lucky Dog. We can continue to sing our holiday carols.  Be sure to Like us on Facebook and to check out our website listed below for other news and the past history on our club. Go Browns!

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Well, why were we sandbagging this performance? Could this Browns team have shown up during the first 12 games? Or, did another team show up, dress in our uniforms and masquerade as the Browns? (I.e. Masquerade -The Phantom of the Opera).Whatever & who cares. We had a great time at The Lucky Dog and a win is a win. Lets play spoiler from here on out. In the meantime, heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Ken Leib, Danny Dunn, & Chuck

-          Member of the week: Margaret Overholts

-          Suburb of the week: Kent, OH

-          Jr. Spirit Award: MIA (Again, no kids at the Lucky Dog, plus we sang our holiday carols)

-          Winner of the Jim Brown Picture Collage: Dylan Lettie

Holiday Carol

As previously mentioned, its the Holiday season and we are Browns fans. That combination alone fosters some liquid holiday cheer and a sense of humor.  Club member Margaret Overholts composed two carols so far. (See attached & start practicing). Another club member, Dan Dunn has another one in the works as well. Over the next two games, we will sing our carols. Hopefully, we wont be arrested for disturbing the peace.

Dawgs helping Dogs:  On Saturday, we donated about 25 bags of dog food and $138 from our Swear Jar to the Animal Friends shelter in Hamilton. THANK YOU to all that donated and contributed to the Swear Jar throughout the year. Check our website for pictures on this event.

Upcoming Dates:

-          SundaysDecember 20th & December 27th CDLD Holiday Carol contest (See explanation above.)

-          Sunday, January 10th: Year-end party. In the past years, weve always chosen the Sunday, 1pm time slot during the wild-card playoff weekend for our year-end party.  Its much easier to plan that way. Shirts: We have distributed all shirts to the rightful owners. The overrun of extra shirts will be on sale & display during game days. A big thank-you to Ginny Weale for coordinating this effort again this year.

Our next game will be Sunday, December 20th vs. Seattle on the West coast, so it will be a 4pm kick-off at The Lucky Dog. We can continue to sing our holiday carols.  Be sure to Like us on Facebook and to check out our website listed below for other news and the past history on our club. Go Browns!

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Well, weve had another good year -- On the field?? No. Our club has had another good year. Regardless of how the Browns play on the field, our club continues to grow and prosper --- and have fun. As we approach the holidays, this is most evident. Our dues & raffle proceeds continue to grow and our treasury is healthy. Therefore, each year at this time, we reach out and give back to various charitable causes.  We will be making charitable donations to Susan G. Komen (Breast Cancer), Muscular Dystrophy, and the Cleveland Browns Foundation. As far as our on-the-field performance, well just wait until next year. Does anyone know which pick position well have in the draft? Do we trade down for more picks? Those discussions & debates will follow. In the meantime, heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Rich Miller, Eric Huber, Nick Grote

-          Member of the week: Bob Schwiegeraht

-          Suburb of the week: Lakewood, OH

-          Jr. Spirit Award: MIA (Again, no kids at the Lucky Dog)

Holiday Carol

As I mentioned in last weeks letter, its the Holiday season and we are Browns fans. That combination alone fosters some liquid holiday cheer and a sense of humor.  I asked all members to come up a better Browns Backer Holiday Carol than my 2012 Grammy-Award winning Holiday Carol, To the Dog. (See attached). Club member Margaret Overholts composed two carols so far. Is anyone else up for the challenge? Over the next games during the holiday season, once weve consumed the appropriate amount liquid holiday cheer, we can sing our holiday carols at The Lucky Dog. Hopefully, we wont be arrested for disturbing the peace.

Important dates/events:

Dawgs helping Dogs:  We collect donations of dog food from our members and donate this along with the funds from our Swear Jar to the Animal Friends shelter in Hamilton. THANK YOU to all that have donated so far. Well have a nice haul to deliver to the Shelter this year. Heres the game plan:

-          Saturday, December 12th: We will all meet at noon at the Animal Friends Humane Society (1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011). Everyone is invited. We drop off the donations & $, and take a few pictures for our website. The entire process should only take about 30 minutes. Be sure and wear your Browns attire.

Upcoming Dates:

-          Saturday, December 12th: Deliver dog food donations to the Animal Shelter along with our funds from the Swear Jar. See explanation above.

-          Sunday, December 13th: Raffle drawing for the autographed Jim Brown picture/collage. We are selling these tickets as a separate raffle every week.

To The Dog

(Sung to the melody Let it Snow)

Oh the beer at The Dog is plentiful,

And the service is so delightful,

Since weve no place to go,

To The Dog, To The Dog, have a beer.

When one Oclock comes around,

The Browns Backers come out of their caves,

After pounding down several beers,

The staff really hopes they behave.

As The Cleveland Browns fight their battles,

The Browns Backers drown their sorrows,

Here we go Brownies, they cheer,

At The Dog, at The Dog, with a beer.

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Well, this is life as a Browns fan. How bizarre can things get? This was like the ending to the Michigan / Michigan State game. Everyone just had that shocked look on their faces. I strongly feel that we need to start Austin Davis for the remainder of the year. McCown is hurt & Johnny had his chance and blew it. Austin is young and a good QB with an outstanding college career. Lets see what hes got.

Heres the scoop from Mondays game:

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

OK, Ive held it in all year its time to vent. Its also time to clean house. I actually thought we would be respectable this year. The Browns ownership /top brass have absolutely no idea about the amount of global fan support that exists for this team. They are absolutely clueless. We have a bye week coming up. This is the opportune time to fire the general manager and head coach. In fact, let the entire coaching staff go. Any replacements could do a better job. OK venting topic # 2 - NFL officiating: First of all, the Browns did not lose the game due to a bad call. They got beat, plain & simple. But the officiating in the NFL is an absolute farce and the most biased of any major sport. The ticky-tack arm entanglements as a receiver & defensive back are running in stride down the field are never called against the elite teams (i.e. New England), but always called against the Browns. Why not be consistent and call pass interference on EVERY PLAY. Finally, Im tired about constantly hearing about how the league is trying to protect the Quarterback. Thats BS. When Pittsburgh linebacker Arthur Moats deliberately grabs Johnny Manziels facemask, and deliberately hangs on and twists his head 360 degrees, and then stays in the game???.  I assume the league will fine him a nominal sum of 10K when he should be suspended without pay for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, the league doesnt have the balls, unless the quarterbacks head was Tom Brady.

OK, enough of my venting. On a positive note, we always have a great time watching the game at The Lucky Dog and we have some exciting things in store for the rest of the season. Heres the latest scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Danny Dunn, Roger Overholts, Bill Berry, Don Kushma, Rich Miller, Gailon Revere

-          Member of the week: Wesley Banks

-          Suburb of the week: Medina, Ohio

So heres the protocol leading up to this event:

-          Monday Night, November 30th, & Sunday, December 6th: Please bring your donations to The Lucky Dog.

Well, it was fun while it lasted throughout the first half. Unfortunately, Ws arent awarded by halves. I definitely felt at the beginning of the year, wed be a much better team than last year. To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

For starters, lets just pretend this game never happened. You cant win while giving up four fumbles and having about a dozen penalties. This was just plain ole ugly. I hope there are some serious conversations (tongue-lashings) going on from the top down all through the organization. Well, with that said, we always have a great time at The Lucky Dog Grille. If you didnt make it, you missed out on some great raffle prizes and a new, larger viewing screen in the restaurant area. Heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Eric Huber, Bob Risheill, Nate Cox

-          Member of the week: Danny Dunn

-          Suburb of the week: Shaker Hts., Ohio

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Blake

Shirts: The shirts have arrived! Ginny started to deliver them to their rightful owners this past Sunday at The Lucky Dog. Although she will be absent this coming Sunday, I have the rest of the shirts and will continue to distribute these on this coming Sunday as well. There were a few shirts on backorder and Ginny will be contacting those members direct for resolution / exchange, etc.

Upcoming Dates:

-          Thursday night, November 5th is the Browns/Bengals game here in Cincinnati. As we did last year, a large group met Wednesday evening to bark and greet our Browns as they arrived at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. Stay tuned for details.

-          Saturday, December 12th: Deliver dog food donations to the Animal Shelter along with our funds from the Swear Jar. Ill start to ask for dog food donations around mid to late November.

-          Sunday, December 13th: Raffle drawing for the autographed Jim Brown picture/collage. We are selling these tickets as a separate raffle every week.

Our Display Table: Dont for get to check out our display table every week. There are free information packets on books - Don Cockrofts The Kardiac Kids and Earnest Byners book as well. There are also scrap books from previous years and club business cards to pass out to prospective members.

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Many BB club members know my obsession with the movie, The Wizard of Oz. Besides being able to recite the starting line-up of the 1964 Browns, I can also recite most of the script & songs from the aforementioned movie.  We were having a great time at The Lucky Dog, especially when we came back to tie the game in regulation with dreams of pulling out another victory in OT. Unfortunately, we woke up from our dreams without acclaiming theres no place like home. Do we lack the brains of the Scarecrow? (Was going for 2 the right call on our last TD?) Do we lack the courage of the Lion to close the deal when the games on the line? (Somebody on offense or defense must make a play). Do we lack the heart of the Tin Man? (.A heart is judged by how much you are loved by others). The Browns have the largest fan base in all professional sports.  We certainly register a lot of emotion & devotion. For some reason, we continue to pay attention and our respect to the football team behind the curtain. On that note, Ill have another brew. Heres the scoop from Sundays game:

-          Trivia winners: Bob Risheill, Ed Sedlak, Pete Carden

-          Member of the week: Laura Marsh

-          Suburb of the week: Aurora, Ohio

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Cailey & Kara

Other items/events: These events are not club sponsored, but I like to keep everyone informed of activities that get passed through me from other clubs:

For all specific details contact: Par Sarwar @ 513-675-2608 or Debbie Paxson @ debpax11@hotmail.com.

-          Ed Bettridge a former player from the 1964 champs will be at The Greater Cincinnati Browns Backers (Slatts Pub) this coming Sunday.

Shirts: The production order is in process. As soon as we have the shirts in hand, well have them at the Lucky Dog for distribution. Stay tuned.

Upcoming Dates:

-          Saturday, December 12th: Deliver dog food donations to the Animal Shelter along with our funds from the Swear Jar. Ill start to ask for dog food donations around mid to late November.

According to Websters Confidence: Self-assurance or a belief in your ability to succeed. Hopefully this win will help build some confidence over the long haul. Our offense has stepped up the last two games. Our defense? Well, it needs some more confidence and some lessons in tackling. I hope this win will carry over to next week at home vs. Denver. As always, we had a great time at The Lucky Dog Grille with a real good crowd considering the game was on CBS. Heres the latest:

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Well, it was exciting down to the end. Our team must learn how to finish and close the deal. There are no consolation prizes or moral victories in this league.  True Browns fans dont give up, so I cant wait to see everyone next week at The Lucky Dog against our division rival the Ravens. We had a packed house and a great time at The Dog. Its always nice to enjoy a Browns game with about 200 other Browns fans. A special thanks to James for installing a new mike & sound system in time for this game. I was out of town the previous week, and with the sound system going down, I know there were a lot of execution problems. Ill try to piece together a summary of the previous two weeks:

-          Trivia winners: Kyle Plvan, Danny Dunn

-          Member of the week: Holly England

-          Suburb of the week: Parma, Ohio & Rocky River, Ohio

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Sam Kemper & Braxton

Shirts, Shirts, & Shirts: Ginny took the final orders this past week and will be placing the production run soon. We will keep everyone posted on the status and when the shirts will be ready for pickup. She will bring them to The Lucky Dog for distribution on game days. Stay tuned.

A very special Thank You to Charlotte Kachner: Do we have a great club or what? We are so fortunate to have many members who donate their time and efforts to help keep our club running successfully. Aside from that, the many friendships we make last a lifetime. Last week, Charlotte made a very generous monetary donation to our club. This was unexpected, but very much appreciated. Charlotte and her husband Larry have been members of this club since the beginning. They travel a lot, but will attend several games throughout the season. We will certainly put the money to good use in a responsible manner. Thanks again to Charlotte for your donation and for your friendship.

To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Do we have a great club or what? Its always nice to enjoy a Browns win, but it makes it even more special to enjoy it with about 200 Browns fans. I know I went out on a limb by saying Im buying my Super Bowl tickets, but hey give me a break, I just got a little excited after the win. Ill be absent next game, attending a wedding in Hilton Head, SC, but our club will be in good hands with Bryan, Bob, Deb, Rich, & many others chipping in.

Heres the scoop from game 2:

-          Trivia winners: Curt Bly, Paul Woodbury

-          Member of the week: Bill Willie Paden

-          Suburb of the week: Painesville, Ohio

-          Jr. Spirit Award: Blake

Shirts, Shirts, & Shirts: All members: make sure you get your shirt orders in to Ginny Weale, our shirt coordinator during the first four weeks of the season. Last year, we didnt do a shirt run, and with the growth of our club, I had numerous members approach me asking how to get a Club shirt. Ginny worked hard in the off season coming up with some new designs, styles & colors so theres something for everyone. She will be taking orders during the first four (4) weeks of the season. As you noticed, she has samples on display each week. So be sure and get your shirt orders in. Id like every member to have a club shirt. Check our website to view the order form for styles, colors, & pricing.

DUES: Our dues are what drive our success. We always collect dues on game days. If you want to mail in your dues, please make your check or money order out to Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs and mail your dues to our treasurer, Georg Lastoskie at 7420 Capri Way, Apt 7, Maineville, OH 45039. Game three is Sunday, September 27th 1:00pm vs. The Raiders at The Lucky Dog.  Ill be cheering on our home team from a Hilton Head Browns Backers club. Lets keep the positive momentum alive. To all Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers,

Oh well. Such is the life of a Browns fan. Come on Browns fans, lets not give up yet. Weve got an exciting season planned at The Lucky Dog this year. Well know more about this loss later in the season. Will the Jets be a 16-0 team or a 1-15 team? I did an extensive analysis of the game films and I determined that there definitely was not enough money donated to the Swear Jar.

Heres the scoop from game 1:

-          Member of the week: Ruby Paramore

-          Suburb of the week: Massillon, Ohio

Check our website to view the order form for styles, colors, & pricing.

Calling all Volunteers:  First, a big THANK YOU to all volunteers that helped out on opening day Bob, Deb, Marianne, Sandra, Jeanne, Dan, & Glenda (I may have missed some others). Id like to add more folks to help with setup on game days throughout the season. Let me know if anyone is interested.    I will be on vacation for week 3, therefore Bryan, Bob & others will probably run the show. So. someone needs to be trained on set-up & the playbook during this coming week. Let me know if anyone is interested. (NOTE: During my absence in week 3, if the Browns win 42 0 and we have $1,000 in raffle sales, there will be no quarterback controversy in our club LOL).

Opening Day Party - What a Great Party it Was!!! Check out the Photos!!

When: Sunday, September 13th, 2015

Where: Lucky Dog Bar and Grille

What: Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Opening Day Party!!! Tailgate party will begin at 12:00 PM, with kick-off at 1:00 PM, and there will be a free appetizer buffet and a limited "Club Tab" for beer, wine and soft drinks for all dues-paying members that will last as long as possible into the game. The appetizer buffet will include The Lucky Dog's famous wings, veggie tray, chips, etc.

The Perils of a Cleveland Sports Fan (and why its still a great thing to be)!

While another season comes to an end in Cleveland this time its the season of our Cleveland Cavaliers we reflect on another incredible ride. Yes, our team came up a little short, but we watched them play with heart. The heart of a TRUE CHAMPION. The team was missing some key personnel, due to injuries, and the rest of the team stepped up and battled. And came just TWO wins shy of bringing a major championship back to Northeast Ohio. And what a future this team has to look forward to when healthy, this team will be a force to be reckoned with.

The same can be said of our beloved Browns. And our Tribe. The NFL draft was a good one for Cleveland. The Browns added some much-needed depth in a few positions that have struggled with injuries over the past few seasons. And the Indians continue to battle through some tough games to hang close to the division leaders coming into the All-Star break. Its a long season, so there is still time for the team to find its stride.

I think when all is said and done, its a great time to be a Cleveland sports fan. All In Go Tribe and.

Here We Go, Brownies, Here We Go!!

The Dog was rockin on opening day with a standing room only crowd. Although the Browns lost, we made a valiant comeback which had the crowd on their feet through the 2nd half. Our club was graced by the presence of our guest-of-honor, Mr. Thom Darden, the all time leader in interceptions for the Browns. Mr. Darden signed autographs & posed for pictures from 11:30 through the end of the game. Everyone enjoyed Mr. Darden's warm personality and friendly nature. Our club has been fortunate to have former players who represent and uphold the true, rich traditions of the Cleveland Browns organization. Mr. Darden is truly a class act and was true to form.

And further...a HUGE Thank You to Marlene Whitfield - former neighbor of Thom Darden, she set up the connection with him.

And people look what we have to welcome everyone to our games at the Lucky Dog!
